The Highlands Yoga Experience with Eva Kristlova and Penelope Coomber

We are delighted to invite you on the Highlands Yoga Experience retreat between 20th – 25th May 2024 in Cromarty, Scotland.  Here you will be immersing yourself in the practice of yoga, chanting, yogic philosophy and meditation. We promise you an extraordinary transformative week with plenty of free time to explore, learn, connect and also have fun!

The retreat is set in a beautiful location and promises to be an experience to remember!

Cromarty, poised on the tip of the Black Isle at the mouth of the Cromarty Firth is the Highlands’ best preserved historic town.

The Old Brewery where we will be staying is situated right at the edge of the sea shore on the fringes of the picturesque town of Cromarty.  Within easy walking distance you will find award-winning museums, restaurant, cafes and shops; two pubs serving locally-brewed ale; galleries & gifts; harbour & park; sandy beaches; resident population of bottlenose dolphins (with wildlife tours to see them up close!); woodland and coastal walks; interesting 18thC architecture and buildings of historical significance.

Our professional team – Eva Kristlova and Penelope Coomber, both with an extensive wealth of experience and years of studies and teaching behind them, are delighted to offer you a Unique and Bespoke week.

You will dive into teachings of yoga, explore asana (postures), pranayama (breath), meditation, chanting and yogic philosophy.  This carefully designed retreat will awaken your curiosity and hopefully inspire you to go deeper into these ancient teachings and practises.

We will also offer you trips and activities such as Boat trips to watch dolphins, hikes, sea bird and wildlife expeditions.  This is a good website to check out: https://www.ecoventures.co.uk/

TESTIMONY

Our trip to Cromarty will stay with me forever, it was my first UK yoga retreat and probably my best one yet. Cromarty is a wonderful place in a beautiful part of our country, it actually stole a bit of my heart. The venue was a gorgeous old brewery with amazing staff, great food and a wonderful yoga space. We were fortunate to have a local historian walk us around this tiny, beautiful place and run through the history, that was fascinating. I strongly recommend the boat trip to see the dolphins with the local company, which is situated near the harbour, next to Sutors (An amazing place to sample local cuisine and awesome pizzas). We didn’t see any dolphins on the day that we chose but that trip and the memories will stay with me forever, so much fun. Cromarty is surrounded by natural beauty and there are gorgeous walks everywhere. I even did a spot of paddleboarding one evening as the sun set and it was magical. The locals are all very friendly and willing to help with anything, I don’t think I’ve ever been to place where I felt so safe. I will have fond memories of all the people I shared this week with. Yoga with Eva and the philosophy and chanting with Penelope was fantastic and I brought so much away with me from this wonderful retreat. Before the trip I was feeling stuck and had lost my way with my own practice and since returning my internal fires have been stoked and my love for all things yoga have resumed, I’ve had a serious injection of motivation bringing me back home to myself. I wish we could do it all again.

Beautiful place away from radio and TV with very friendly locals and things to see.  Interesting eateries of all sorts. Cromarty is very quiet and peaceful with a character of its own.  Those of us who went formed a lovely, support group- age range 30 something to 70 something.   I was fascinated by the Yoga Philosophy and Chanting classes and learned a lot.  The early morning asana practices were great too.  I came back feeling more relaxed and grounded than for many months and more insight into living a fulfilled life.  And such lovely people!
